India Gary-Martin has been Global Head of Location Strategy and Performance Metrics for Investment Bank at JPMorgan Chase & Co. since June 2010. Having worked before at prestigious banks like the Royal Bank of Scotland and Lehman Brothers, Gary-Martin has 20 years of strategic and tactical experience, especially in relation to sales, trading and technology.

She started her career at Morgan Stanley and held different positions in technology and operations in New York, London, Frankfurt and Tokyo. She led the implementation of Royal Bank of Scotland's asset protection scheme with the UK government for global banking and markets asset classes. She served as Chief Operating Officer for global markets trading operations and controlling technology at Deutsche Bank.

As the global chief operations officer (COO) of JPMorgan, she is responsible for managing the strategic agenda for the 13,000 person Technology & Operations division of the Global Investment Bank. She is responsible for leading the technology strategy of the company. In addition to building new platforms, Gary-Martin and her staff have been busy integrating the platforms that came out of the multiple mergers and acquisitions carried out over recent years and reassessing various aspects of a very large technology footprint.

Gary-Martin has used her achievements as a way of reversing the situation where only a few females choose careers in IT. After joining JP Morgan, she became a role model in the profession of technology, and she now gives back to community by fostering and developing talents in IT for females at her company and in the general public. As a result, more companies are willing to employ women in technology professions.

Outside her duties at JP Morgan, she is also chair of the Board of Trustees of LEAP (Local Employment Access Projects), a UK-based charity, and the president of the City Women’s Network (CWN), an organization comprised of the most senior women in industry around the UK. For her contributions to IT, India Gary-Martin has been rewarded with awards including the Women in banking, Finance’s ‘Outstanding Contribution to Diversity’ and ‘Best Female Technologist’.
